Masters 101 & Clinics

Masters Swimming 101
Members who come to the WSU Masters Swim Club with only the basic of swimming skills are welcome to participate in special technique sessions called Masters Swimming 101. These sessions are limited to a few people allowing more individual attention by the coach. You may be invited to a Masters 101 session by a coach, or you may request to schedule a session with one of the WSU Masters Coaches. Sessions focus on stroke technique concepts as well as learning the four competitive strokes and last between 30 and 45 minutes. Though you will receive a certain amount of exercise, these sessions are not considered a "workout." There is an additional cost to attend these sessions. To schedule an appointment contact Head Coach Doug Garcia at douggarcia@usms.org or call 332-1621 before 9 p.m.

Other Clinics
Inland Northwest Masters Swimming will often host a clinic sometime in mid-fall at a location and time that is convienent to most of the membership of the entire LMSC. These clinics usually last for 4-8 hours and include classroom instruction, in-water instruction, and videotape sessions with review. There is usually a small charge for these clinics, and the clinics are usually run by an expert coach who is brought in from outside the area. These clinics are scheduled months in advance and are announced in the Splashmaster newsletter.
