WSU Masters Swimming as well as the rest of United States Masters Swimming is a volunteer organization. As such, we are always looking for people willing to serve in a variety of capacities to help run the organization.

Because WSU Masters is a recognized student organization of Washington State University, our top leadership are currently enrolled full- or part-time Washington State University students. These top positions include president and treasurer, in addition to a faculty advisor (which must a a current faculty or staff member at the University).

Other positions within the WSU Masters organization can be held by students, faculty/staff or members of the community.

If you would like to participate in a leadership capacity, please speak with the head coach or one of the other leaders with in the WSU Masters organization.

Doug Garcia

Head Coach Doug Garcia
A Northern California native, Doug has been coaching the WSU Masters since 1993. An American Swim Coaches Association (ASCA) level four masters coach, Doug attends clinics and conferences to better his coaching skills. In addition, Doug serves on the United States Masters Swimming House of Delegates, Coaches and Marketing Committees on behalf of Inland NW and WSU Masters. Doug's WSU Masters coaching responsibilities include the early morning workouts and Masters 101 sessions.

Doug works full time as a marketing designer for the WSU Marketing Communications Office. He and his wife Mary have two children, Gabrielle and Joel and live in Pullman.
